I'm nearly a year old!!
Today is Jaxon's 10 month birthday! We had preemie clinic this afternoon. According to the occupational therapist and the doctor (I think he was in agreement anyways, it's hard to understand his accent sometimes), developmentally Jax is essentially measuring at the 10 months old that he is. This means we are ahead of the game (adjusted age wise) and right on track (chronological age wise).
He was 19 pounds even, and 27.75 inches long. Weight wise, he's apparently doing amazing, gaining at least 57 grams a day. (They expect 38 grams a day in weight gain) But he does eat constantly and anything that we will let him eat. "He does not have, how you say....fat tummy, so there's no need to worry," is what the doctor told me. That's a good thing, cuz he will eat all day every day if you let him!
As far as the rest life goes, he is crawling like crazy. Apparently, just crawling isn't fun enough for him and so he's also pulling himself up on furniture and today at the clinic he climbed a step on his own. He likes big people food better than mushy baby food but will eat whatever you put on a spoon. Everyday, Jax gets a little more independent. He doesn't like us to hold his bottle for him anymore, since he can do it himself. Jax now has 8 teeth and chews on everything. If he gets excited to see you, he'll cuddle up and then bite at you (a habit I hope doesn't last long ~ we've both been bit a few times!). I'm hoping that those bites evolve into the kisses he's learning to give!
Two more months and he's a year old....scary!
