It Was A Good Day
Finally, it was nice enough to do the things outside that Jax has been dying to do all week. First up was to take his new bike for a test drive to the park a couple blocks away. He was determined that that's where we needed to go for his first bike ride. It was a little iffy for awhile about if we could actually get to the park, we tried to talk him into maybe just hanging out in the cul de sac til he got the hang of things, but Jaxon was not having any of that. Once he got the hang of pedalling vs. braking things got better. It was a good thing we weren't in a hurry to get the park though, it took us 30+ minutes to go three blocks. It was totally worth it to see how proud he was of himself for making it all the way to the park like he wanted.
Riding through his first puddle ~ he was pretty excited about that
Once he got the hang of it, he spent a lot of time watching his feet and concentrating on what they were doing, instead of watching the road. This didn't cause a problem til the ride home when he crashed because he forgot how to brake. We played pirates while we were at the park. This is Captain Blue Eyes going across the swamp to rescue the Pirate Princess.
Finally got to try out his new water table with water in it! All week, he's been playing with this table in our living room, asking me when we can take it outside and play. The people that came with it have been swimming in an empty pool and Jax is not ok with that. He's already asked if he can play with it again tomorrow :)

I am THREE!
Today, Jaxon is three years old! To celebrate, we got a hotel room so Jax could go swimming, went to dinner at what he calls the Star Building (Space Aliens), and then came home to get his gift from mommy & daddy, eat a cupcake, and wait for a special phone call from Jake And The Neverland Pirates. We swam for a couple hours yesterday and then again this morning. Jax would have swam all night if we would have let him. His favorite part is the water cannons (he only sprayed a couple innocent bystanders before we could stop him).
This is his new "Friend Alien" ~ Dakota got all sorts of tickets at Space Aliens and then gave them to Jax so he could pick out something big from the Prize Counter. So we got a blow up alien and a HUGE set of 25 cars. He was very excited about both of them and wouldn't let us help him carry them out to the car.
Once we turned out the lights, after letting him stay up late to watch the end of Beauty and the Beast, it took all of 3 mintues for him to fall asleep.
New bike from mommy & daddy! He's most excited about the "dinger" that came with the helmet we got him.
Make a wish!
Oh, Jaxon, I can't believe you are 3 already! I hope you know how much we love you love you! :)

More Easter Festivities
We went to one more Easter egg hunt the day before Easter, just Jax and I while daddy was at work. He wasn't so much for the other activities available (egg rolling, bunny petting, etc.), he would color and race with an egg though. He definately was NOT ok with the bunny there ~ although, I must agree, he was a little creepy. I finally convinced him to get sort of next to him so I could take a picture, but he wouldn't let the bunny touch him.
This morning, while getting ready to go to lunch with my family for Easter, Jax insisted on "putting his haircut on." So we did.
Tradition says that there's an egg hunt on Easter, which Jax is perfectly happy to do cuz there's candy in the end. It helps that after all the other egg hunts we've done this week, there was no competition for the eggs in our backyard.
Hope everyone had a great Easter! :)

Dying Easter Eggs
This year was Jaxon's first time dying Easter eggs. We had done it at school, so he sort of had the hang of things. I say sort of, because he doesn't quite get that you need to be gentle with the eggs. It would look like he was going to gently put the eggs in the mug of dye and then he'd just drop it in there. Most of our eggs are dyed on the inside, too.....
Easter Egg Hunt
Hunting for eggs so he can claim his bag of treats. You're only supposed to find 5 eggs, but we hunted for awhile ~ Josh just kept throwing them back into the shredded paper, while Jax entertained himself.
Treats! So brave, no tears! He was all about getting on the Easter Bunny's lap to tell him what he wanted for Easter. He thinks you can put in requests like at Christmas.
Checking out the chicks ~ he petted a bunny too, but I didn't get any pictures of that braveness.

A Pretend Birthday
It's pretty close to Jax's birthday and since Mike and Brandy were in town, we pretended like it was the real deal and had cupcakes (or muffins, as Jaxon prefers to call them). Later, we went swimming at Mike and Brandy's hotel. Sadly there's no pictures from that. He had a GREAT time though, and went down the water slide. Repeatedly. Once by himself.
Jax and Auntie Brandy :) I'm sad this picture is kinda blurry cuz it's pretty cute.
Uncle Mike and Auntie Brandy
This is what Mike & Brandy call the "Torquey Taco" ~ when he was little he liked to be swaddled (or tacoed) up in blanket to fall asleep. Sadly, it didn't work now that he's bigger. He did think it was pretty funny to do the unrolling part though.
Even though it was way past bedtime, Jax was ready to do more swimming and playing. We had to tell him the pool was broken, but that just meant then that he didn't want to leave Mike and Brandy for the night. He even told us to just leave him there and tried REALLY hard to fall asleep on their bed. When we finally did get him out of there, he cried for Auntie Brandy to rescue him the whole way home. And woke up yelling for her this morning. When Mike and Brandy are around, Josh and I take a backseat as far as important people go. Guess that shows how we rate.
First (I Think) Snowman Ever
At the beginning of March, Jaxon and I went to Enderlin to see Grandma, Papa, and Tanner for the day while Daddy worked. We brought our sled because Tanner wanted to take Jax sledding on the not so big hill in the backyard. As you can see, the hill was nearly smaller then the sled!
Jax and Tanner (mostly Tanner) made a snowman. If I recall correctly, this is his first ever snowman. He was more interested in rearranging its face than actually helping Tanner. A refresher course in how to make snow angels
And then his attempt. I love this picture.
Learning to make snowballs
And then throwing them at Mommy
Papa got home from work early, so Jax got in some cuddle time and then struggled to stay awake.
