Aftermath of the Storm

This is what our yard looks like, after the storm last night. A couple houses down the way lost fence panels too, though it looks like the wind randomly changed direction and ripped out the back of their fence after ripping out the side.

The wind came up pretty fast ~ I had called my parents, gone outside for a minute after getting off the phone and by the time I got in the house, you couldn't see past the deck. And so we spent some quality time in the basement. Jax was absolutely terrified once the power went out and came back on a few times and had a death grip on a flashlight for the next hour or so.

Looks like we're redoing 4ish panels of fence this summer!

An hour after all the excitement, Jax was exhausted since it was way past his bedtime, but still a little anxious and so he sat in the chair and pretty much stared off into space. He was ok as long as Josh, Crunch, and I were always in his line of sight. (Even under that blanket, he's still got a deathgrip on the flashlight)

Before The Storm

Before the weather got crazy yesterday, we played outside for a little bit and trimmed some bushes in the backyard.

Jax got bored with helping me with the bushes and so he picked "flowers." Now our backyard is dandelion free!

This is game we play a lot of these days. He loves to hide under blankets and yell "You see me?!?!"

Webcam Fun

My laptop has a webcam that works sometimes, though usually it doesn't. The other night, we were bored and trying to be patient waiting for Daddy to come play so we took some pictures and video with the webcam. Jax thought it was pretty cool to see himself on the screen and pretty much entertained himself. We're a little shiny though, in the pictures and the video cuz I couldn't get the light adjusted so we looked normal.

Yardwork

Jaxon is absolutely heartbroken if Josh decides to mow the lawn without him. However, he's also very afraid of the lawnmower. The compromise is that he holds Daddy's hand while mowing, just in case he needs help. As soon as Josh shuts the mower off to empty the bagger, Jax runs off to inspect their work and make sure that Josh gets all the clippings dumped into the proper garbage can. If he gets tired of holding Daddy's hand and helping, he sits someplace (far from the mower) and yells direction at Daddy until he's ready to help again.

A little like Daddy

It's not abnormal to hear Jaxon asking, "Tools? I fick (fix) it?" I guess he's a little like his daddy, always looking for something to fix!

Kite Day

At the beginning of May (I'm a little behind in posting, obviously) ~ we went with friends to Kite Day in south Fargo. Jax was all about flying his kite for about 5 minutes. Then it was way more fun for him and McKenna to chase each other around. By the time we went home a couple hours later, our kite didn't have any tail left, we were a little pink from the sun, and Jax was exhausted. Now, when he sees his kite he says "I fly rocket?" :)
