I haven't updated on just Jaxon information for a bit and figure that I should, so later in life when we look back on this (or have it printed as a book), we have it written down.
His vocabulary grows everyday. He says mama, daddy, papa, no, yes, please, thank you, juice, water, cookie, milk, Crunch, Where'd it go?, Where'd you go?, There it is!, up, Elmo, truck, cars, cheese, uh oh, sneaky, toot toot, shirt, backpack, help, choo-choo, yay, stinky, potty, poop, ick, ni-night, bye, hello, shoo shoo, I love you, more, shovel....and probably a lot of others that I can't think of offhand.
He identifies his mouth, tongue (usually), nose, feet, belly, and butt. He can tell you what a duck, rooster, kitty, puppy, and sometimes pigs say.
He can drink from cup that isn't a sippy. He spills every once in awhile, and forgets you can't carry a glass around like you can a sippy but otherwise is very careful. Jax is pretty good about feeding himself, and doesn't like having food on his hands or face.
We're working on the potty training thing, but we're not pushing it. If he needs a diaper change he will tell us and at school he's been trying to use the potty there on his own when he needs to go (he usually only gets as far as tucking his shirt under his chin and frantically trying to get his pants and diaper off). Maybe once we get him to use the potty chair at home, we'll be in business?
He does a lot more imaginative play and it is SO FUN to watch him pretend. He does funny voices for characters and imitates a lot of what he sees the kids at school doing. At home, all his cars have different voices or he uses his tool puzzle to fix his ride on toys.
It's so hard to believe that we're only 2 months away from him being 2 years old. I really hope the next 16 years don't go this quickly (though, I guess I say that until he's an evil, pain in the butt teenager, huh?) We are so lucky to have such a sweet little boy!
