This first picture isn't from our weekend adventure, I just thought it was really cute. Also, since Jaxon can escape from his bouncer, if you need to contain him for any amount of time you have to put him in random things (hence, the laundry basket). Put him in a box or a laundry basket and he'll stay there for at least 5 minutes. Put him in the bouncer and he escapes in about 1 minute.
We had been talking about how we wanted to go swimming for awhile, and how curious we were about how Jax would react to a body of water that was bigger than the bathtub, so this weekend we took a mini-vacation (to Moorhead! Woo!) to go swimming. Jax was thrilled, to put it mildly. We had something for him to float in, but he didn't like that he couldn't reach far enough outside of it to make any good splashes, so our first adventure to the pool he just swam with Josh and I and without the tube thing. Besides loving the pool, he loved the room the pool was in ~ big and empty except for the 3 of us and so everything REALLY echoed.
He loved floating around and splashing with his daddy :)
Just floating! He kind of treated it like his bouncer and would try to climb out of it and escape, trying to get to the water (apparently the puddle between the rings wasn't enough for him).
Taking a break in the room after swimming. We played in the water for over an hour before taking a break. I thought he would be exhausted, but he crawled laps in the room and refused to stop moving!
A cheerio snack ~ this was probably the only time he stopped moving all day!
More swimming! This time we decide the floaty thing was ok, but not our favorite.
I wish there was a clock nearby. This is Jax. He was supposed to be sleeping. Or at least tired. It was pretty close to 11 p.m. when I took this picture.
This is how Jax entertained himself this morning ~ just like his daddy, always messing with stuff. He'd push the buttons until the safe beeped and then if the buttons quit glowing, he would lick them. We had quite a laugh watching him.
All this swimming made us excited for visiting the lake and Grandpa and Grandma's pool this summer. I can about imagine how excited Jax will be!
