Well, we ruined our 9.5 month streak of non-sick baby. Yesterday, Jax woke up with a runny nose. It wasn't so bad later in the day and so I figured that was the end of it.
WRONG!
When he went to bed, his nose was stuffy again and that made it sort of hard for him to breathe normal while sleeping. Around 1 a.m. he was awake and crying. I figured that it would be easier for him to breathe if he was sleeping sort of sitting up, so we cuddled up in a chair upstairs. He could breathe better and finally fell into a deep sleep...until he started coughing so hard he threw up ALL over me, himself, the chair and the floor. (Dear Mom, if I ever threw up on you like that, I'm sorry. Very very sorry.)
I changed clothes and Josh and I got Jax all cleaned up and discovered he was running a decent fever. The rest of the night was up and down. Mostly up and mostly crying. Of course he decided once the sun was fully up that that would be the best time to sleep and so he slept until his doctor's appointment around lunch.
We got to the doctor's office and he was smiling and not crying and friendly ~ everything he had NOT been since 9 the night before. Both the nurse and the doctor said that he didn't act sick. I told them it's like taking a car to a mechanic, it quits acting up once you get in the door. Final verdict : the beginning of an ear infection. (The way he screamed when the doctor touched his ears, I can't imagine how horrible it would have been if he had a full blown ear infection!)Amoxicillin for 10 days and then back to check things out.
He's feeling better now (thankfully) and is a little more like the normal Jaxon... I'm sad our well-baby streak has been ruined, but it had to happen sometime and I'd rather it be something like this than something major.

Sledding and 9 month update
Santa brought Jax a sled and we decided today would be a pretty good day to take it for a test drive. Final verdict = smooth ride, but we're not so sure about if it's fun or sorta scary :) The picture below of Josh and Jax is from after sledding and after I'd plopped him in the snow and he decided he didn't like that at all. Good thing daddy was there to rescue him! Before we started the test drive, Crunch made sure Jax was securely strapped in and afterwards, he kissed and sniffed at him to make sure he was ok.
This is pretty much the same look he had on his face the whole time that Josh pulled him around the yard. Sometimes he would crack a smile, but for the most part he looked pretty unsure.
Daddy got his exercise pulling Jax in circles in the yard, making a snowy racetrack. Next time, Crunch gets to pull him! ;)
Last Tuesday was Jaxon's 9 month check up ~ he is 18 pounds, 7 ounces and 27.5 inches long. Now we don't go back until after his first birthday! I can't believe that he'll be a year old in a few months. I don't like how fast things go!
Tuesday, Jax decided was a good day to show me that he can pull himself to standing in his crib and peek out at me when I'm in the family room. The rest of the week, anytime he was in his crib he would try to pull himself up and check out the rest of the world. Daddy had to lower the mattress in his crib so we don't have to worry about him jumping ship!

He Crawled!!!
At daycare. Of course.
He's been practicing the last couple days and finally crawled a little ways at daycare today. Hopefully he doesn't wait forever to show us at home!
It was an exciting day in the life of both boys today ~ Josh got the email that he gets to go backstage on Saturday at the Brad Paisley concert for a tour before the concert starts!
My day was pretty boring in comparison to first crawling and backstage tours, but that's ok.
