Big Day for Dash!

Yesterday was a big day for Dash:  first cereal and first time rolling from back to front!  There are pictures for the cereal, but not for the rolling because he would wait til we gave up waiting for him to roll over and walk away, then he'd roll.  At first we thought it was an accident, but then he did it a couple more times (with no witnesses, of course).

Cereal went ok...Josh says there was more in the bowl when we quit than when we started because of all the drool.
This picture and the one 2 down from here are both examples of how Dashiel looks at his big brother every single time Jaxon is playing with, singing to, or talking to him.  Huge smiles every single time.

Cereal and rolling over can only mean that he's getting bigger....  I don't like that.

4th of July at the Lake & At Home

We spent the 4th at the lake ~ Dashiel's first time to the beach!  He was ok with hanging out in his little swimming pool until his diaper had reached max capacity with water, then he squawked a little.  He had a good time just laying in his pool, hanging out.  He even fell asleep in there!

Jaxon has gotten to be such a big kid since last year ~ he practiced his swimming, walked out to the end of the dock in the water by himself, and jumped off the dock.  When I said something to him about it, he said "Well yeaaaaa.  It's not like I can stay little forever!"

 Sleeping in the pool!
 Jaxon's first sand castle :)
Writing his name in the sand ~ he's getting better!
On the way home from the lake, Jaxon asked if we were going to blow up anything when we got home, so he and Daddy went to get "just sparklers."  When they got back, Jaxon came in the house and says, "Mom, Dad says you'll be mad if I tell you we spent lots of bucks on stuff to blow up."  Typical boys! Jax loved watching the fireworks, but didn't even want to hang onto his sparkler until it went out.

4 months

Yesterday was Dashiel's 4 month appointment.  Jaxon came with to supervise and make sure he didn't cry too much when they gave him his shots.  Since Jax is a bit of a talker, I'd told him beforehand that we were there for Dash, not for him and to give me a chance to visit with the doctor.  Well, he didn't tell the doctor HIS life story (which is the norm with him), he told him Dash's.  She asked if we had any problems, and Jaxon told her all about how Dash spits up (all day, everyday, according to him), how he pees all over the place, how he poops (but not all over the place), and how he's ALWAYS crying, except for when he's not.  At least the doctor was entertained! She laughed until she cried when he told her about the baby tells him all sorts of things, including how his favorite thing to eat is "boob milk, it's like white milk, but different."  Oh....that boy.

Dash weighed 15 lbs, 4 oz and was 63 cm long (I knew how long it was in inches, but forgot already).  Surprisingly, he's about right on with all his measurements.  He's getting to be more talkative, and loves to laugh.  Jaxon will dance in front of him, and Dashiel will laugh til he can hardly catch his breath.  Now that he laughs, there isn't much that Jaxon won't do to make him laugh.  He is the sweetest big brother.

We've had a pretty busy month, which is why I'm just now posting Dashiel's 3 month photos.  The first couple though are from my phone as we've gotten settled in the new house.

Dashiel is ALWAYS interested in what Jaxon is doing.  This could be a bad thing once he can crawl.

In the mornings, Jaxon likes to have "pajama visits."  On this particular morning, he was telling Dash about growing up and how he'd have to grow up, even if he didn't want to.

This picture was our Father's Day gift, of sorts, to Josh.  He is horrible with running a camera and so I figured this was the easiest way to get a picture of the 3 of us for him.  Also, it provides photographic evidence that I did actually exist for later on in life ;)
The most handsome 3 month old ever!
