The following are some pictures from my phone that I kept forgetting to share.  Once school ended for the year, we started sleeping in a big boy bed and took the short rail off the front of his toddler bed.  After about a week of falling out (usually in the morning) he learned how to not fall out.  One morning, Josh found him under the bed, completely except for a foot.  I found him once on the opposite side of the room under the futon with his head sticking out.
I was painting the trim on the house so Jax decided he needed to paint something too.  I'd say he did a good job.

Father's Day at the Beach

After a quick lunch in town, we went to the lake for the day to celebrate Father's Day.  Once we got to Pelican Rapids, every couple minutes Jax would yell, "We're almost there!  I can see my beach!"  The weather was beautiful and the water wasn't too bad.

Helping Daddy throw sand to level out his new docking thingy for the jetski.

His first time seeing a dead fish.  He'd sneak over there to look at it, tiptoe up to it and then back away.  We both got a good laugh though, when he told us "Hey, we should probably teach this fish to float again.  He can't get to the water!"
Testing out his independence.  He wanted to see how deep the water was, but didn't go much past his butt.

Trying to write his name like Mommy did.
 Playing trucks with Daddy
We had a pretty busy afternoon:  pulling weeds, driving pretend pirate ships, raking the beach, hunting for "she-shells" and toads, and trying to figure out how to drive the paddle boat while it was still upside down.  Hope everyone had a great Father's Day! :)

Lake!

First trip for the 3 of us to the lakes today!  Jaxon has been there with my parents already this summer/spring, plus he was there over the winter.  It wasn't super sunny, but the temperature and the water was perfect.  Jax was excited to help us put the dock in and Josh was excited to try out his new jetski.
Tanner taught Jaxon to wink, and now he'll do it to me every once in awhile. He's getting better at it!

Underneath the dock pieces we found some toads.  I do not like to touch them, but Jax was trying to catch "the big fat daddy frog.  The baby frog is too slow."  Unfortunately, they all blend in with the leaves and such on the beach so you can't see them in the picture!
Watching Daddy ride jetski.  He stood on the end of the dock and yelled "Dad!  This way is home!  I'm over here!  Yoooooohooooooo, you see me?"  He was very worried that Daddy wouldn't find his way back to us.
Going for a ride with Daddy.  (He loved it.)
Later in the afternoon, the weather got rainy so we packed up to head home.  Jaxon was very sad, he thought we were going to have a pajama party and stay the night.  According to Daddy though, we may be back next weekend so he can ride some more jetski...

To the Races

Last night was Luther Night at the races and so we took Jaxon to see his first car races.  It may have been a little too dusty for him because he was much more interested in playing than sitting to watch the races.  He was interested, though, if there was a crash or if a car's tires fell off.  Then he would cheer and clap for the cars.

 Modelling his "walkie talkies"

Meeting Elmo!

Saturday (in the crazy heat) we went to meet Elmo at Rheault Farms.  Mommy waited in line (for what felt like forever) while Daddy and Jaxon played on the playground.  Jax has only ever watched Sesame Street a handful of times, but he's a pretty big fan of Elmo.  He was pretty brave and walked right up to Elmo for his picture.

Red River Zoo

To celebrate the end of school, we went to a free event at the zoo ~ we went stroller free since the zoo here is pretty small.  Jax liked having the freedom to do what he wanted, but was pretty annoyed with me when I made him climb the same "mountain" over and over again while we waited for them to draw names for the prizes.

Feeding the ducks!  Daddy left work a little bit early so he could come to the zoo with us and helped feed ducks. :)
Checking out the porcupine.  This position was pretty standard for animal viewing that day.  He would run up, look for/at the animal in the enclosure, yell "Cool! Look at the ______!" and run off to check out the next animal.
Trying to feed a goat.  When it came out of the little house though, Jax turned tail and ran away.
 1, 2, 3, I'm a tree! (Practicing gymnastics moves at the zoo, I guess!?!)
